Today I was saddened to hear of the passing of Brad. When I received the reply back from an email I sent this evening , I thought, “Brad decided to retire. Good for him! Im sure he‘s busy with building his new place.” Then I clicked and read on. I was in shock and overwhelmed with sadness. He was not only a colleague but my friend. He was so kind to me. He was one of those people that didn’t drain your energy but rather filled you up.
I had the pleasure of meeting Brad six years ago when working on my daughters annual school auction gala. It was my first year and I was beyond overwhelmed. The day before the auction we didnt even have our programs printed. He stepped in and helped my co Chair Katie and I get it all done. He even showed us how to work some of the equipment. He was a great teacher. Lots of laughs. I remember that he had the best tunes playing in the background. That would be the case every time I stopped by. He let us stay after hours and we worked into the late evening until it was all done. He didn’t have to do that for us but he did it with a smile.
Brad reminded me today that no matter what we do on this earth during our time here that being kind to one another matters the most. Kindness is love.
I am so happy to hear that him and his wife had found a place and he was enjoying the likes of it when he passed.
I am truly so sorry for your families loss. He was a beautiful human being.
Until we meet again, Rest In Peace my dear friend.
