I met Brad in Junior High....although the circumstances are pretty hazy now. We became fast friends and upon graduation from high school, He, Jeff Kennedy and I all ended up going to San Jose State College. Jeff ended up transferring to Cal Poly SLO after two years. We roomed together, worked restaurants together and generally had no class together! We had many escapades and memories, so to bring it all together would be impossible.
One of the stories that sticks in my mind is when Brad decided to grow some marijuana! He got a book and started studying what to do. We got a big planter, germinated some seeds and put that planter in a window in the apartment that got lots of sun. We watered and watched those plants grow over a summer til they were nearly 6-7 feet tall! In the meantime, we had decided to move from that apartment to another(why I don't know). Now we had the dilemma of how to move that planter box with fronds of pot growing out of it! We decided that moving everything else first and then moving the planter under the cover of darkness was the really smart thing to do!We were moving one of the last loads in my truck and wrapping up the move; We had arranged for the electricity to be turned off, forwarded mail and Oh yes........have the phone company come to disconnect the phone. When we got back from taking that load to the new apartment we decided it was time to move that planter. We went to get it.........not only had the phone guy disconnected the phone, he had disconnected the pot plants! Stripped the stalks from bottom to top! 4 lonely stalks looking at us when we got back! Calling the phone company to report the theft was pretty much out of the question.
So Brad!...........may your new surroundings be conducive to growing whatever you want......and your neighbors stay out of your ........harvest!
I remember a Christmas when you came down with your Mom? Craig McMinn came too......he was teasing you about some buttons on your skirt!.......Haha.....Magellans I think.
Great story Peter! I remembered those days of you going to college and living together. I use to love coming down to San Jose to visit with you guys. Always fun times!
